Experience Wellness

Wellness is when you create balance, harmony and energy renewal despite the hectic bustle of everyday pressures and deadlines. Learn to bring wellness back into your life by making space for self-care through movement.

Why Me

Experience

I have been a personal trainer since 1995. I have seen many clients and still train some of those who started my journey in 1995. I have trained clients from 19 to 90 years of age and have experience with many medical problems from plantar fasciitis to shoulder impingement, but also chronic conditions like MS and Parkinson’s.

Approach

The goals of my clients are the starting points for any conversation about exercise and fitness programming. After listening and evaluating, I will design a program for your needs. Since I am trained in many modalities, I can find the right approach for you.

Credentials

Since obtaining my first personal trainer certification in 1995, I never stopped learning and updating my knowledge. I now hold nationally recognized certifications from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I was the first person in North Carolina to be trained in MELT (Myofascial Energetic Length Technique), TBMM (The BioMechanics Method) in addition to many other ways of training. – Because of my credential as an ACE Certified Medical Exercise Specialist, it is in my scope of practice to work with people with special medical conditions, be it diabetes, pulmonary or cardiovascular disorders, orthopedic or neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s or MS.

Health Coaching

Mind and body cannot be separated, and I can help you to develop strategies to implement an exercise and wellness approach in your life.

Modalities

One size does not fit all. As a trainer, I have studied many different modalities and can find a way that will work for you.

Wellness Design

Philosophy

I believe in a holistic approach to fitness and wellness. When we meet for the first time, I try to understand more than just your muscular imbalances but also the imbalances in your life. We are often torn between responsibilities for work and family, and special medical conditions can mandate extra considerations. Time constraints are a reality and need to be respected.

My wellness programs for you will look at all those factors, and I will make sure that the approach works for you and your life. The components of the program will draw on any modality that ‘gets the job done’, taking into considerations your likes and dislikes.

A typical workout will contain several components of the following exercise approaches:

Strength Training

Prehab & Post-Rehab

Flexibility Training

Cardiovascular Training

Adaptive Training

Corrective Exercise

Balance & Neuromuscular Training

Specialties

MELT – Connective Tissue Self Treatment

RTR – Relief Through Rolling

RRT – Rapid Release Technology

NASM – National Academy of Sports Medicine

ACE – American Council on Exercise

The BioMechanics Method

NeuroKinetic Therapy – The Missing Link
