SMART stands for Stability Mobility Alignment Release Technique. The class combines self-treatment techniques for connective tissue, also referred to as fascia.
We will be using balls and foam rollers in a collage of release techniques, such as MELT®, ‘Relief Through Rolling’, self-myofasical release, and others. The techniques elicit adaptive changes in the body to improve posture and well-being. As a mind-body modality, they constantly invite the participant to assess and re-assess in order to evaluate the results of their application.
In the course of the class, we will release long-held tension in the body which may have originated from repetitive movements and compromised postures of daily living. Those are often the cause of common aches and pains and manifests itself in neck, low back, hip, and shoulder problems.
Participants leave this class feeling as if they just had a massage, walking taller and better aligned.
This drop-in class is appropriate for all levels of practitioners, no experience necessary.
